Weeks 8 - 14
Still no relief from this morning sickness. I’ve tried everything and nothing is working! And on top of all, I have to wear my glasses because I have an ulcer on my eye. I don’t think I’m going to make it.

No more Orange Drinks for me
My normal OB is out on maternity leave, so I’m seeing another doctor in the same practice that I really don’t care for. This is only temporary until my doctor comes back in November. Anyway, this other doctor thinks my sugar level looks a little high, judging from the blood test or urine test or some kind of test. She wants me to go ahead and do the glucose test. For those of you who don’t know this is a test to determine if you have gestational diabetes. They make you drink this sweet orange drink in 5 minutes and then they take your blood. I don’t drink a lot, so for me drinking this much liquid in 5 minutes is a challenge. Well, I get it down; take the test and a couple of days later they call me back to tell me I didn’t pass. They want me to come back and take the second test. For the second test you cannot eat anything the morning before you go in. You have to take a blood test, down the orange drink in 5 minutes, wait an hour, have your blood taken and repeat two more times. Now, I am nauseous 24/7 so I’m thinking this is a really bad idea. I get to the doctor, take the blood test and drink my orange drink and go back out to the waiting room to wait for an hour. Five minutes later, I tell my Mom to ask the nurses if there’s any place I can lie down. Ten minutes later up comes ALL of the orange drink! YUCK!

Wicked
For our second anniversary, I thought it would be fun to go see the play Wicked. I wasn’t sure Jeremy was going to go for the idea, but he did. He’s the best. Apart from the man sitting next to Jeremy, singing all of the songs along with the performers, the play was very good and we both really enjoyed it.
